Raised in production agriculture, Clay combines firsthand knowledge of the livestock industry with years of experience in auctioneering, agricultural communications, and real estate to help families navigate some of life’s most significant decisions.
Growing up in Eastern Colorado, Clay was deeply involved in his family’s commercial cow-calf operation while also raising his own registered Gelbvieh cattle. His passion for agriculture developed through years of participation in 4-H and FFA, eventually leading him to serve as a Colorado FFA State Officer. Before beginning college, he attended the World Wide College of Auctioneering, launching a career in the auction profession that continues today.
Clay later earned degrees and certificates from Colby Community College in agricultural economics, animal science, farm and ranch management, and beef cattle science. Following college, he built a successful career as a farm broadcaster on respected radio stations throughout Nebraska and Kansas, earning the trust of agricultural audiences by delivering timely market information and industry news. That background in communication naturally led him into agricultural real estate and auctions, where he found his passion for helping clients through complex transactions.
Today, Clay specializes in farms, ranches, acreages, equipment auctions, and land sales. He believes every property has a story, and every family’s legacy deserves to be represented with professionalism, respect, and thoughtful marketing. Whether working on a private listing or an auction, he values collaboration and takes pride in being part of a team committed to delivering exceptional results for clients.
Clay remains actively involved in the communities he serves. He is President of the Lexington Area Chamber of Commerce, President of the Dawson County Farm Bureau, Treasurer of the Sandhill Cattle Association, Deputy Grand Knight with St. Anne’s Knights of Columbus, and supports numerous agricultural organizations and fundraising auctions throughout the region.
Clay and his wife, Janell, live just outside Lexington on their acreage, where they raise meat goats and enjoy helping local youth with their 4-H and FFA projects. Outside of real estate, Clay continues to put his communication skills to work by announcing rodeos, livestock shows, and community events. Together, he and Janell also DJ weddings throughout Nebraska, Kansas, and Colorado.
For Clay, the greatest reward isn’t measured by sales volume—it’s earning the trust of families and helping them confidently pass their legacy to the next generation.
